It's more than a short, catchy name - The Gem celebrates the historical significance of Oregon State University by making reference to the first college newspaper, The Gem, first published in February 1883. Within steps of campus, the GEM is located at 155 NW Kings Blvd. the GEM has 231 private apartments for upper class students and graduate students. Studios, one-bedroom apartments, and two-bedroom and three-bedroom suites are available. There is lounge space on every floor including facilities, game rooms, study rooms, and open meeting spaces.
