Along with the changes in the office we also have made a change to the parking lot. The Gem now has several reserved parking spaces for employees in the Southwest corner of the lot. 1 space is reserved 24 hours a day for emergency response parking. The other spaces are only reserved during office hours. Each space has a sign explaining the restricted hours. A vehicle parked in one of these spots within the restricted time will be ticketed by The Gem and if necessary will be towed. For our benefit as well as your own please keep this in mind when choosing a space.

At the Gem we are in the process of reducing our resource consumption. We have started reducing our paper consumption by submitting the newsletter online. Composting at the Gem
1/28/2010
In a college environment it is easy to allow refuse to build up. One of the easiest ways to decrease your refuse is to compost organic materials. Currently we do not have composting facilities on site but you can take organic refuse to the Student Sustainability Center 738 SW 15th Street, (541) 753-4072 . For more information about ways to dispose of organic waste and other ways to become more sustainable, check out the OSU Student Sustainability Initiative.
